Step 1#: Memorize the location of all the notes.
So the top row is the same as the bottom row, except that the bottom row starts on Bb and the top row on D.
Five rows, each spelling an augmented triad—
Rows 2 and 4 begin and end on the same note, as they have 7 buttons—the other three have 6.
The “white keys” are in the diagonal rows (from upper left to lower right) 2 & 3, repeated in rows 5 & 6–couple of accidentals too.
I’m workin’ on it!

Can't understand a word he says, but once he starts playing it is quite good.

Thanks for the link, I posted it to the Facebook Harmonetta page.
I would love to be able to play this way but it’s gonna take some time.

Wow! I didn't like these guys before, (they were too bizarre and sloppy for my taste) but they seem to have gotten a lot tighter and better.
So, I guess I'll take back all the rotten things I thought about'em.

I forget where I saw it, maybe on YouTube, but the harmonetta player of Svaang briefly talked about the instrument and having to have several due to maintenance on the road. I haven't worked or played on one, but that would not be fun! 70 some reeds in these, verses a 48 chord harmonica with 384 reeds? Well there is some tradeoff there. He does some great stuff with it!

Harmonetta is the fiddliest of all.
I hope to someday be able to work on mine.

By any chance do any of you harmonetta owners know if you can play wider than an octave split on it?

Don’t know quite where to put this, but it does feature the Harmonetta.

God Only Knows with 6 harmonicas.
Sorry, it’s on FB, apologies in advance.

One thing you can say about the Harmonetta is that you can look at what you are doing. Which was quite obvious in the video.

Double apologies. First, for not knowing where to put this. Second, for giving such late notice. There is a Harmonetta for sale on Shopgoodwill.com that appears to be in very good condition. I am not selling it. This was donated to Goodwill and is being auctioned on line. It's currently up to $400. Here is the link:

About the Harmonetta that was auctioned through Goodwill:
How many people bid for it? Was it in working condition? What was the selling price?
Harmonettas must be the scarcest instruments in the world.
A movie about scarce bandoneons is "The Last Bandoneon". YOu can watch it via Youtube.com. If you like the lore of scarce harmonicas, you might enjoy that movle. That movie is a true story. All the characters in the story exist in real life.

IF THAT'S WHAT IT WENT FOR, I THINK $426 WAS A GOOD PRICE!

A working Harmonetta for sale must be RARE. Some people with plenty of cash might run an auction price up much higher than $426.
I spend zilch on booze, restaurants, fancy wheel covers. I just might buy one if the right harmonicas are in front of me.

Does anyone here speak German (I think that's what language it is in.)? This article could be a little informative about the making of harmonettas. It looks like Hans Hohner, a descendant of Matthias Hohner, may have attended these Harmonetta meetings. That Hans Hohner was probably the one who was actually on the assembly line of the harmonettas and was repairing them until fairly recently, or as I have read online. Unfortunately, Google Chrome's translate feature doesn't work for it.

News flash—
I sold my Harmonetta.
It was fun while it lasted, but I needed the funds to buy that MIDI pedal(Morningstar MC6 Pro).
It’s really coming in handy, and is seeing much more action.
That is all, as you were.

It was featured in the solo looping video with the Ztar.

I bought the MC6 several months ago, and offered the Harmonetta to a few folks online, finally found a buyer, Rodrigo Reis.

Cool Beans! If I could've afforded it, I wouldda bought it. Always loved the sound of a harmonetta. Thought I'd grow up to be Bob Herndan.

I use the MiDi pedal to operate the laptop sequencer and toggle the DL4 Looper off and on (it’s a delay unit, but MIDI, with a simple looper). So it’s getting used a lot!
