Yeah, just compare your time (wherever you are) with E.S.T. Cleveland/New York time and see if it works for you. It ain't a perfect world! (you can say that again ::)) but there's gotta be something close to a "middle ground" no?  Most of us are probably retired, so our biggest inconvenience is probably whether or not, it interferes with our nap or bed time. ;) Anyway, kick it around.

And as I'm mentioned before, most folks can actually get more outta one Zoomer than months on this forum.

Okay
After you shoot one (humanly of course) check to see if it's a young female. (not a baby) just smaller than the normal sized ones. When you open her up, you'll see some musk glands along the backbone. (Blech! Is this getting gross or what?) The adults are all full of those glands and they ruin everything. FTR, I only actually cooked a couple and they were both young females, cuz my uncle sed even though he knew folks who ate ALL of them, he said the adults weren't any good for nothin but buzzard food.  :P. Actually my 12 year old daughter, Bernie did all the critical surgery on the critter, then we tossed in the freezer. A couple months later, I got home from work and Mama made what I thought was beef stew. When she asked if I knew what I was eating, I knew it musta been that wood chuck.

Budishka did it in the oven but I'll bet a crock pot/roaster would do an even better job.

A:
Please repeat the advice about which woodchucks are good for eating and which ones are not good for eating.

Hmm. For me that would be 4.30 in the afternoon. I'm still working then. Yes I know I'm an old coot but I actually do work during the day - and sometimes I have appointments. I'm good after 1 PM EST. That's 7 PM my time, which is to say CET. Moreover 10.30 EST is real early for PST people let alone Hawaii and Australia denizens.

Mr. Campbell, my junior HS civics teacher gave a hunter's safety course every fall. He had the boys bring in examples of the different types of guns that could be used for hunting.

I received my Father's WW II vintage double barrel shotgun for Christmas my senior year in high school. One of my proudest moments.

Okay, back to Zoomin'

We have a lotta members (and could/would/might be Zoomers) on the other side of the pond, right? I've been writing to a Sldemeister member in India who (along with friends) would like to participate in a Zoom meeting. I'm also sure a lot of Sliders in Europe would also be interested in this idea.

Of course, ~I~ think it would be pretty cool, but how many of you guys would be interested in a "testing the water" type Zoom meeting at 10:30 EST, on any given day,  just to touch base with more of our global family?

As a very young farm boy it was my job to walk with grandpa horse drawn mowing machine and keep the cutter bar clear of knarly grass and keep an eye out for ground hog holes.  Luckily no horse broke a leg in one but the danger was always present.
Dispatching every groundhog I could was very welcome by the whole farming community.  Today I would be arrested for carrying my .22 rifle to the school bus stop nearly every day in warm, rainless weather.  Then I was considered a community asset and very welcome to hunt anywhere I wanted.  Times, they are a changin.

Kilww da gwounhog! Hu-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh!

Ain't that the truth!  When I was 10, I got a double-barrel shotgun for Christmas.  After the holiday, I took it to school on the bus and for "Show and Tell".  Wonder what that would get me today? ;)
