Hi people!
Yesterday I received my seydel chrom, I like it very much, it has a nice warm sound and the slide is very mellow to use..but I have a question for you.
I’m so noob in chromatic harmonica, the seydel is my first, I have a dozen of diatonic but it’s the only one with the valves, obviously..the chrom is in C, when I blow the first hole, it sound nice, but when i quit to blow I hear a bzzzzzz sound, just for a moment...it happens only in 1st blow hole...could it be the valve? Could it be because it’s very new and it needs time for “adjust”? Let me know what you think, please.
Thank you all!

Yes, it could be the valve that you are hearing, but if it is, it is unlikely to be heard by an audience, it may just be that you aren't used to hearing a valve lifting, having only played (non valved) diatonic harmonicas before.
But if it is loud, & persistent, it may be a reed needs adjusting.

I have the same problem on a Easttop Dreamer, but on all notes. First, I warm up the instrument in my hands for a couple of minutes then I start to play. The buzzing sound is there for a few minutes on all notes and gradually disappear. I have another Easttop, twice as expensive and twice heavier ( discontinued now) that doesn't have this problem. All notes are pure right away after the same warming procedure. Any idea?

Possibly different valve materials.

Are the valves otherwise laying flat on the Dreamer model? It might also be the valve materials that Keith mentions, and it could benefit with a valve cleaning.

Valves operate kind of like springs - so brand new valves are likely to be a little bit stiff and then move more freely after playing for a few days. Always worth checking that the top layer is not stuck to the bottom layer, as this will prevent the valve making a fast enough lift-off to avoid making contact with the vibrating tip of the reed - this is what usually causes that buzz effect - the underside of the valve is bouncing on the tip of the reed.

Yes Valve.
So, if new to chromatic, know that you should warm up instrument before play - under arm 5 min or warming blanket, and let cool off.
I have a decent video' Tips for Chromatic Harmonica Maintenance' that shows how to clean valves if they buzz or pop.
Welcome to a new harmonica universe.
