Sheet Music and backing tracks

 Hi All
  I have found a interesting program site ,Tomplay .In tom play for around 75 dollars
  yearly. For music in not tab but music score or sheet music form  and  backing of
  different forms I am just starting  to use it ,just a note if anyone would be interested     
   in  it check it out.

I use  Band in a Box and have done fofr a number of years. I have looked at TomPlay but am not sure at this point whether it's for me or not. I'd be very interested to hear what you think after you've  used it for a while.

My son - a real musician as opposed to me - recommends iReal pro as a backup track program. Just checked online. It's priced modestly. Anyone have any experience with it?

If you have an iPhone or an iPad, iReal is cheap, extremely flexible and easy to use as well as create new rhythm tracks.   Combined with a little bluetooth amp it's great.

Nope. I ain't too too adept at muzik stuff. For example, I don't know what half of the symbols mean on this chart.

putting new song in iReal?   Yes, several.  Mostly tunes that are not in the realbook.    The challenge is to get the timing right.  But when you try what you think it is, you will very likely be able to tell if you have it right or not.  And you choose different instruments to play chords, use bass and/or drums, or not and you can experiment with rhythms.

Yeah, I tried editing a number that some guy wrote for iReal where the bridge was completely "rong," (actually I've found a few like that in the last couple years) and couldn't do much with it, so I just kinda forgot about using that particular number. Maybe someday

I also use iReal Pro on a daily basis. I have added a few tracks myself, including some chord progressions for practicing.
Also, if you look into the forums (the little world-shaped icon at the top of the app), you can search (and hopefully find) songs that are not in the main playlists and have been added by others: a few times they are clearly wrong, but I have been lucky most of the times.

I personally am pretty happy with the new version of BIAB, but this would improve my staff reading. I might try it at some point!

 Well used tomplay for a while now ,my opinion is that it has a lot of music,lot I like
 And a lot I don,t know,which is good. I tend to stick to certain type so I can experiment with different  classical, world ,rock , big band to name a few .
 And depending on your music reading their are usually 3 or 4 versions  of each song  very easy to intermediate to more complex. You can slow it down or speed up BPM
 I have been looking at Flute music ,their is no chromatic or harmonica filter for music
 You can have just backing or play along  with a Flute. The backing is good enough to use on zoom sessions. Over all I will keep it for a while .
    It's nice to learn and try music with good backing and score without buying music making a backing in band in a box which can be good or not depending on me ,then
 for me trying to put the notes which drives me crazy . It will not replace band in a box for me , but it is a good tool that's reasonably priced and Great for ease of Use .

Right, I think that’s what I will do when I get fed up with BIAB.
I’m currently having a ball with it, just created a version of Way Down Yonder in New Orleans using the Real Tracks at 190 bpm.
I will try it at my gig on Friday, the Real Tracks sound pretty good!
