where I was working to pay bills, contractors, etc.

In Elizabeth City, NC.  I got my statement
and there was a tax on my checking account!

Actually, every day we pay (in one way or another) more taxes than there are Indian tribes. Think about that for a while; the longer you think, the more indian tribes you can think of. Someday i'm gonna get myself a list.
