plastic bodied tremelo/echo
ejacob4:
Does anybody happen to know who, if anyone makes a tremelo/echo type harmonica with a plastic or other non-wood body?
Grizzly:
Hohner Celeste comes in all keys, are solo-tuned and plastic combed. And they're inexpensive.

John Broecker:
Hello, Ed. I looked through the product catalogs of the major harmonica manufacturers: Hohner, Huang, Hering, Seydel, Suzuki and Tombo. Not all of these catalogs are 2007 issue, but all are published after 2000. Here are the results:
You are looking for a Hohner Echo-type tremolo harmonica with a plastic comb. You didn't specify single-sided or double sided. The only company listed above that lists double-sided, plastic combed, echo-type tremolos is the Seydel company, with 3 sizes (amount of double holes): the Mountain Harp. I have one. It's a beautiful looking and beautiful sounding harmonica.
Most of the above listed companies make single-sided plastic combed tremolos, echo-type. By echo-type, I assume that you mean tremolo harps with Richter system note placement. Richter system note placement is also found in the "diet-tronic," single-reed, 10-hole blues harps.
Huang makes single sided, plastic comb tremolo harmonicas, but they aren't echo-type. The Huang tremolos use the solo sytem note placement, like the popular slide chromatics.
The above listed companies that make single-sided echo-type tremolo harps with plastic combs include:
Hohner Weekender in C, 2 sizes (amount of holes); Golden Melody in F,C, or G; Echo Celeste, 12 major keys.
Suzuki Two-Timer in C or A, 2 sizes; Humming Tremolo, 12 major keys.
Tombo Band Deluxe, 12 majors, 12 harmonic minors, 12 natural minors; Tombo Band 21, 6 keys, (2 minor); Tombo Band 24, 4 major keys.
Seydel Sailor, C or G, different sizes.
Hering makes tremolos, but none with plastic combs.
I hope this is helpful. John Broecker
