Yep - the orignal version of this song was released in 1931 with vocals by Ozzie Nelson. The 1930s gave us so many great songs.

I think my feeling are being hurt here. You're calling these songs forgotten. Ok, I guess it fits me. I am ready for Freddy (the friendly undertaker). With very few exceptions, (maybe the oo-blah-dee number), we DO these tunes at the club. About once a night we will stick in some old old stuff.
And that's because people will DANCE to it. Remember dancing. Back when people went out and interacted with one another?

Jimmy, hope this works. I'm lousy at cutting/pasting--hmm---been that way since kindergarten. Barbra; singing "The Best Gift". Ann and I played got the record the Christmas before our son was born in June--just seemed perfect. Ann and I may be the only people who haven't forgotten--discovered?--this tune.

L.J.'s an architect, soil scientist, expert witness--he can be a bit exacting and bothersome. The man even has a pond--nope never been there to fish. I'd just drive over, but L.J. isn't the concealed carry kinda guy. Nope, liable to have the rifle or pistol in his hand...wife Elizabeth is probably more accurate..but don't just show up without an invite. Probably doesn't have any fish in his dumb ole pond anyway.

I do remember catching lotsa fish--I just can't remember if I went fishing today.

Well Jimmy - opinions seem to be sharply divided on Ms Streisand as a singer. I happen to think she is remarkable and unique - and here she does something quite different with this old song. I listened to quite a few versions before choosing this one - to me it stood out by a mile

Yes - my apologies to your wife - but in this case I preferred the instrumental version. The Sinatra recording is also on youtube, but there is also this more interesting slower version that was recorded by Peggy Lee, for those who would like to hear the lyric of this old song.
