Happy Thanksgiving

Just a quick note to wish all my SlideMeister friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I realize that there are SlideMeisters from places that don't officially celebrate this holiday. However, I don't think there are ANY who don't feel grateful for things in their life. Family, friends, a babbling creek, a beautiful sunset ... or just the fact that you woke up today on the right side of the grass. Life is wondrous, and I'm grateful for so much.
I count among my life's blessings the five years I've hung out on these pages, and the wonderful "long distance" relationships that I've fostered here. Thanks to all of you who, in one way or another, has helped me along the journey of enjoying music and the chromatic harmonica!
Be safe, and as my old dad used to say, "Everything in moderation, including moderation!"

Thanks Doug, and wishing all of you, whether you celebrate or not, a Happy Thanksgiving. You're right, there is a lot to be thankful for, a fact that is easy to forget. Here in Germany today is Thursday and tomorrow Friday. No special celebration. The same applies to Göran in Malmö. By chance, however, today also happens to be the poet William Blake's 267th birthday. Among many other things, he wrote about the tiger:
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
He also wrote - comfortingly: "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom."
I assume there will be no Zoom tonight. Today is a day best spent talking turkey.

Barbara especially liked the poem.
