I couldn't resist  :). I'm really impressed with the SCX line's (IMHO) unbeatable combination of great tone, long lasting reeds, robust construction, maintenance friendly design, fabulous customer service, and best of all.....affordable price. The Suzuki SCX48 is my favorite chromatic. If it hasn't been started already, here it is.  :D

I started the CX 12 fan club. Good for you! I'm a fan of SCXs also. I have a 56. I'm not playing much these days, but it seems I grab the SCX more often than not. Mine has the old style slide mechanism, with the back plate, but it's smooth as glass, quiet, airtight, and rarely sticks.

I'll join in.  I've very pleased with my SCX-56 - especially for the price.  The only problem I've found is that I've found myself occasionally wondering about the SCX-64.  I can also second the thoughts of their customer service.  A pleasure to deal with.

Still only have one of these, but (in my dreams) I want to 'collect the whole set'!

I've noticed though that the slide on mine (newer style MP) is a wee tad sluggish - anyone else notice this? Is there a fix?

I am glad someone finally did it.  I join it now.  I have an SCX-56, and am satisfied.
It's slider was sluggish sometimes, but I realized this is due to the building-up of some debris (dried saliva & others probably).  After cleaning it came back to normal, and sometimes I put a little low-viscous oil to lubricate (I was looking for Suzuki's oil, but I haven't found it).
