New Mic Test

Okay, here's another one.
Here's me foolin' around with an Antelope Axino Synergy modeling mic and Mac Photo Booth and iReal, (in my office) still trying to decide whether or not I like the thing.
It does some cool stuff, but the jury's still out of the functionality of the thing. Check it out:

Thin harmonica sound, lots of treble.

the low end was ok - but agree with Tom about the high end - it faded out and sounded thin - a bit 'warbly'. Not your usual
sound at all (and I've heard you several times). Also, when you sat back just a wee bit once, the sound nearly disappeared so
you need to be practically on top of it.

Yeah, I know. The mic has a weird gain that I've yet to figure out
The volume was low to start with, and the monitoring doesn't work all that well. (I don't hear in the headphones exactly what goes on to the recording) I'm still trying to figure out the settings on the "leveling amplifier" plug-in settings; which is sposta make up for that. That's the Neuman U-87 emulation. I'm not done learning about this beastie, but after using regular mics all my life, I'm finding condensers a challenge, I guess.

Hi Age,
I don't have much knowledge about microphones, but I thoroughly enjoyed your playing. It would be wonderful if you could share your performance on this platform so that someone like me, who is still learning the harmonica, can delight in the beautiful sound of your remarkable talent.
With warm regards, Gene.

Gene, AJ has a few posted on YouTube we can enjoy. They are really just samples of his smooth playing.
