Ah Henry, this reminds me of once upon a time, when i was custodian of a little old castle in Scotland (yes the haunted one). It was middle of a bad winter when we took up residence, the furniture van couldn't get up the hill of a drive, blizzard conditions that went on for days on end, what an effort.Anyways i had to get Audrey to work at the newspaper, sixty miles return journey, i had the perfect car, a little old rear engined Simca, the boot was under the bonnet,my heart has been crossways ever since,we would pirouette there and i would pirouette back to the castle.
Meantime i had been given funds to buy a guard dog, i plumped for this young male Dalmatian, couldn't get him to bark for love nor money, for good reason which i will get to,but he was lovable. So when i dizzily got back through the snow, to the castle , i would call over the eerie white silence, and peer through the falling snow, 'Spark , where are you boy ', well you know how these floaters appear in your eyes, when things are bright and dazzling, i would shout Spark! , peer through the snow, and lo and behold 101 Dalmatians would appear ! They were everywhere.
The reason Spark hardly barked was , it turned out, he was deaf, quite common in Dalmatians, i learned, but he had attributes that well made up for it, so when my employers asked how the guard dog turned out, just told them he was the best guard dog i ever owned (he was the first and only at that time).
I'll try your tune Henry , and think of ,  Dalmatians, Castles, blizzards, and little Simcas that pirouette.
                                                           Thanks                           jh

I echo Tom's observation.
A great story.
I bet you were frozen in that castle!
No wonder you go to Spain for Christmas.
Did you have a great time?
Don't suppose it was snowing there?
It is  -20C in the Highlands of Scotland just now! Brrrr.
I could never figure why Highlanders chose the kilt as their
native dress?

Hi Henry, struggling with the weather at the moment, this part of Ireland does not normally get it bad,so when it happens no one, or nothing is prepared.
Yes, you were intuitive, that castle was cold , we had one open fire (which wasn't a good puller), to heat the whole wing we lived in,at night, by the time the two dogs Spark and Pip and Mitzy the cat had booked places on the hearth rug, getting a bit of heat was a jostling match.
Had to cancel our trip to Spain at the last moment, owing to a complication with my ninety year old Dad in Scotland, thought it best to stay close by, by all accounts the weather in Spain wasn't as good as normal anyway.
The secret to the kilt in cold weather is, to wear a pair of your wifes tights underneath ;) ;D .

On a selfish note, please keep up your great work with the tabs,                   jh

Henry, this sounds really nice starting on the bottom octave of a tenor, almost like a new tune, so pleased you put it up now.
                       On a certain line some folks , may find the following plays a little smoother ;

       3     -3*   -4 -4*-4    -4*   -5       -5*       -6
Someday whenever the spring breaks through

Thanks again for your dedication, hope the bad weather isn't giving you cabin fever, so bad here at the moment for migrant birds, i have five curlews that have taken up residence in the back garden.

Sounds smooth to me Jimmy! :D

It is starting to thaw today.
It is amazing the panic everyone gets into after a fall of snow.
It has been worse than usual though.
The local councils don't like to send their gritters and snow ploughs out in the bad weather! :D
Since the financial slump, when many councils had invested money in that Icelandic bank,
they have been doing very little of anything!

Take care of yourselves!

Thanks for reminding me of this tune and the time when I fell madly in love with Julie Christie, or rather Lara, when I first saw the film in 1965. The temperature here is +25 C indoors without heating but outside there is a cold wind coming up from Antartica, probably only +18C. Here being New Zealand, home of Brendan Power who I met last year on one of his return visits. It was this that made me take up the harmonica again after 50 years. Starting with a 10 hole diatonic before moving onto the Chromatic, which I just love.

I was recommended to it by our local(and probably only)harmonica tuner/repairer, known as "G". I originally taught myself with just the Hohner leaflet to guide me and somehow I managed to tongue block, bend a bit, hand, throat and diaphragm vibrato, just by discovering how with no outside influence at all. I may have heard Tommy Reilly and Larry Adler on the radio, and just tried to imitate them. I log on to SlideMeister once or twice a day and it is just like being in a club with advice an opinions of others as well as being able to express my own. What with this and Youtube I have everything I need to pursue my musical journey. All without leaving home! Thanks to you guys.
