Oh sure. Nice chrome plated "factory" notches would be fine with me too, but nasty "hacked through the chrome, into the brass" notches on a MeisterKlasse is borderline sacrilege, IMO.
Whatta zippo!

Yeah, at Garden state Stan got up on stage and sed "It's good to be here tonight" then after a pause, he sed "Actually, at 93, it's good to be anywhere."

Indexing:
Ok, when I retired and started posting (1996), I started using the term indexing. Writing starting point required 13 letters and a space, reference required 9 letters. And since books use indexing to find details, I decided that indexing worked best. THAT's your startibng point. Only 6 letters, short, and to the point.
Picture a 2 story motel. You are a mailman. In order to 'deliver the mail' (iow sound notes), you needed to know where the occupants (notes) live.
Blowing (which is away from you) in across the hall. Drawing (which is towards you) is on the front of the building. If you went down the stairs to the lower floor, you had the same deal. So you now know where everyone lives.
So...Joe, how does one differentiate the different Cs, Fs, and so forth. Well, the lowest C is the grandfater, the middle is the father, the higher is the grandson. And so on. C1, C2, C3, G1, G2, G3, etc.
And if you MADE a note that wasn't naturally there, like bending or overblowing, this one lived in the maint. closet, the stair well, or the alcove that held the fire hose. But that's getting too far away from the point. The point (basically) IS..you must know the addresses. Now with music the chart will SHOW you where you are, but otherwise you either memorize the addresses OR you look (or more correctly FEEL) the address on the door.
You can now deliver 40, 48, 56, or 64 pieces of mail (music).
That's all for now, study chapter 8. Quizz next week. lolol.
