Change a Hering reed?
« on: February 06, 2007, 05:59:45 AM »
Where do you guys get spare Hering reeds?

Is is easy, or do I have to travel to Brazil in a Safari hat?

I have a dimi tuned Musselwhite.  If I get new plates I have to start from scratch, so it would be nice if I could replace this one reed!

Thanks very much for any info!

Swatne, Thanks!!!  That is really helpful.

My problem reeds are hole 8 and 9, slide-in draw notes.  This is on a 12 hole in the key of A, so those notes are an A and a C.

Interestingly, they are not retuned notes that are going south - just regular ones in this case.

I'll email you.  Thanks again!
